They're much easier to get now, because it seems blog editors realize how limited the conversations would be if more people weren't starred, so they're spreading them around. I got mine after I poked a bit of fun of the peeing ability of an old star commenter, complaining about the new comment system, telling people how to make their text appear black if they're not starred (via html), and making terrible puns.

So, just keep commenting. I didn't have much faith in the new system, but I've seen a slew of people gaining stars recently, which gives me hope that those who don't comment very often but do have something entertaining / educational to say will be heard.
